  • Transparent cost breakdown
  • Quote range and price per m²
  • Project and annual budget
Job Quote Calculator

Turn cleaning time and operating costs into a defensible project quote

Use an effective cleaning rate measured after all passes needed for the accepted finish. The calculator separates variable work costs from fixed project charges and pricing allowances.

Enter your project assumptions

Values update locally and are not submitted.

Transparent estimate
1. Job scope and currency
2. Cleaning time and site plan
Use the accepted effective rate after overlap and every required cleaning pass.
3. Labor and machine operating cost
4. Fixed project charges
5. Pricing allowances
Exclude tax unless you intentionally include it in a cost field. Confirm hazardous coatings, access, safety controls, accommodation, overtime, insurance and local compliance before issuing a binding quotation.

This tool creates a planning estimate, not a binding commercial quotation.

Quote Formula

Build the price from visible project costs

A useful quote shows how production time, labor, equipment and site conditions create the final price.

Cleaning HoursAccepted Area ÷ Effective Rate

Use the full rate after every cleaning pass needed for approval.

Variable CostLabor + Equipment Hours

Include operators, loaded labor and the complete machine operating allowance.

Fixed CostMobilization + Extraction + Waste

Project charges can dominate small jobs even when beam-on time is short.

Quoted Price(Direct Cost + Reserve) × (1 + Markup)

Add commercial risk and service value before issuing a customer price.

The low and high range is a planning band around the calculated quote. It does not replace a site review, material test, tax calculation or signed commercial proposal.
Cost Breakdown

Include every cost that can change the customer quote

Underpricing often comes from using only beam-on time while ignoring preparation, access, extraction, travel and project risk.

Labor and setup

Site induction, masking, setup, cleaning, repositioning, inspection and shutdown all consume paid time.

Machine operation

Include equipment depreciation or rental, electricity, optics, maintenance, extraction and supporting accessories.

Mobilization and site cost

Freight, travel, accommodation, permits, access equipment and work-area controls vary by project.

Commercial allowance

Contingency protects against uncertain scope. Markup covers overhead, insurance, expertise, warranty risk and profit.

Before You Price

Confirm the assumptions that create quote accuracy

A precise spreadsheet cannot correct an untested cleaning rate or an incomplete project scope.

01

Accepted result

Define cleanliness, remaining coating, texture and visible appearance.

02

Complete coating system

Identify rust condition, primer, topcoat, hazardous materials and layer thickness.

03

Working access

Confirm height, geometry, enclosed areas, line of sight and equipment movement.

04

Production rate

Measure accepted square meters per hour after overlap and full passes.

05

Site responsibilities

Agree who provides power, extraction, access, isolation, disposal and permits.

06

Commercial exclusions

State tax, overtime, delays, rework limits and customer-caused standby time.

Quote Scenarios

Understand what drives laser cleaning price per square meter

Small precision work and large industrial cleaning projects can have very different unit prices even when both use laser equipment.

Small Precision Job

Mold or local component cleaning

Setup, transport and minimum service charges may create a higher cost per square meter.

  • Controlled pulsed parameters
  • Detailed inspection and handling
  • Fixed charges spread over a small area
Large Surface Project

Rust or coating removal

Higher-output CW cleaning can reduce unit cost when access is open and the accepted finish is industrial.

  • Large robust steel surfaces
  • Production rate drives the quote
  • Extraction and movement remain important
Complex Site Work

Pipeline, ship or installed machinery

Travel, access, safety controls and standby risk can exceed the direct cleaning cost.

  • Field mobilization and permits
  • Irregular geometry and repositioning
  • Clear exclusions protect both parties
Service or Ownership

Use annual job spend to decide when machine ownership deserves review

Outsourcing can be efficient for occasional work. Repeated cleaning volume may justify comparing annual service spend with an owned or leased system.

01

Keep outsourcing when demand is irregular

Service pricing can avoid capital investment, training, maintenance and utilization risk for occasional projects.

02

Review ownership when jobs repeat

Regular monthly cleaning, stable parts and measurable labor savings can strengthen a machine business case.

03

Compare complete annual cost

Include operator labor, electricity, extraction, maintenance, financing, training and idle capacity in an ownership decision.

Validate Before Quoting

Replace assumed speed with a measured cleaning rate

Send Oceanplayer a representative part or coating sample. A controlled test can confirm the machine direction, accepted finish, required passes and realistic output used in your quote.

01

Test the hardest condition

Use the thickest layer and most difficult substrate or geometry.

02

Approve the surface

Confirm finish requirements before timing the production process.

03

Record every project step

Measure cleaning, handling, extraction, setup and inspection time.

Quote Calculator FAQ

Laser cleaning service cost and quotation questions

Answers for buyers and service providers estimating laser rust removal, paint removal and industrial cleaning prices.

How much does laser cleaning cost per square meter?
The price depends on effective cleaning rate, contamination, accepted finish, area, access, setup, labor, machine cost, extraction, travel and commercial risk. Small precision jobs often have a higher unit price because fixed charges are spread over less area.
How is a laser cleaning job quoted?
Estimate accepted cleaning hours, setup and labor, machine operating cost, consumables, extraction, travel, waste handling and site charges. Then add an appropriate contingency reserve and service markup.
What cleaning rate should I enter?
Use the effective square meters per hour achieved after every pass required for the customer-approved finish. Do not enter internal scanner speed or a one-pass demonstration that does not meet acceptance.
Why is laser rust removal pricing different from paint removal?
Rust condition, pitting and scale differ from coating chemistry, number of paint layers and adhesion. These factors change energy demand, passes, extraction and working speed.
Should setup time be billed?
Setup, site induction, masking, safety controls, extraction, inspection and shutdown consume labor and should be included transparently in the project price.
What should the contingency reserve cover?
Contingency can cover uncertain coating thickness, access restrictions, slower-than-tested production, extraction interruptions, minor scope variation and site delays that are not separately excluded.
Does the calculator include tax?
No. The default model is before tax. Add applicable tax, duties, permits, insurance or local compliance costs separately unless they are intentionally included in an input field.
When should a customer buy a laser cleaner instead of outsourcing?
Machine ownership deserves review when cleaning work is frequent, parts are repeatable, operators and utilities are available, and annual outsourced spend can support the investment. Compare complete ownership cost rather than machine price alone.
